The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the death of Alhaji Umar Garba, its North West Commissioner.
He died in the early hours of Sunday, NAHCON made the announcement via its social media channels on Sunday.
“From God we are and to Him is our return! This is to inform the death of NAHCON’s North West Commissioner in person of Alhaji Umar Garba, who passed away the early hours of today. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Oh Allah give his family fortitude to bear the loss!” the commission said.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the late Umar, who hailed from Sokoto State, was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2019, along side the chairman of NAHCON Zikrullah Kunle Hassan and others.
