NAHCON, Kaduna pilgrims’ board to launch Hajj Savings Scheme

IN continuation with sensitization campaign on Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS), the National Hajj Commission, NAHCON, in partnership with Kaduna State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board and Ja’iz Bank will tomorrow Saturday 12th December 2020 roll off the scheme in Kaduna.

NAHCON Public Affairs Officer Fatima Sanda Usara, who said this in a statement on Friday, adding that expected guests at the event include the general public plus other dignitaries.

“The activity slated for 10: 00am at the Qur’anic Recitation Competition Hall, Kinkinau Kaduna follows that of Kogi state launched on 2nd December, 2020.

“In a welcome address at the Kogi event, Executive Chairman (E.C) of Kogi State Hajj Commission (KHC), Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi, explained to the gathering that the objective of the HSS is to make preparations for Hajj easy, comfortable and stress free for intending pilgrims who cannot afford to pay for Hajj seat at a go.

“The KHC E.C enjoined participants to remember the NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, in their prayers for the laudable programs he has introduced and to remain focused in his positive pursuits.

“In his words, being able to see the good side of things even at the toughest of times is really a blessing from the Almighty. Sheikh Abdullahi called on stakeholders to come forth and pay for Hajj slots,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, ahead of the sensitization and awareness event in Kaduna, the NAHCON Chairman advised all participants and organisers of the event to observe COVID-19 preventive protocols at all times.

He made this reminder as a result of upsurge of the infection being currently experienced across the country and at global level as well.

Alhaji Kunle Hassan reminded Nigerians that health of the intending pilgrims’ and other participants at the occasion is a concern to NAHCON and safeguarding it is among the Commission’s priorities.

The NAHCON Chairman commended federal government’s effort in controlling the infection and promised that the Commission will safeguard the right practices always to check further spread of the infection.
