The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Adamawa State Command, says it has seized 470.2 kilograms of illicit pharmaceutical drugs following an operation along the Damilu/Jambutu axis of Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area.
The Command’s Media Team, led by ASN Abner Yusha, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the seizure was made by the Command’s Motorized Patrol Team acting on credible intelligence about a large consignment of illicit drugs in the area.
The suspect, identified as Patrick KC Frank, allegedly fled the scene after ramming his vehicle into an NDLEA operational vehicle.
“A subsequent cordon and search of the area led to the discovery of the house where the drugs were reportedly stored,” the statement said.
NDLEA operatives recovered: 318.400kg of Tramadol — 364,500 capsules, 151.800kg of Exol-5 — 500,000 tablets, total pharmaceutical drugs seized: 470.200kg, one Red Honda Civic, one building used for storage.
The Command said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and dismantle the network behind the consignment.
The NDLEA Adamawa State Command reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting large-scale drug trafficking and dismantling networks that endanger communities across the state.
NDLEA has intensified operations targeting the distribution of opioids and other controlled pharmaceuticals, which authorities say are fueling insecurity and substance abuse in the North-East.
