Niger Republic to observe Eid el-Fitr Tuesday

Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, and the UAE have all declared Wednesday as Eid el-Fitr

Authorities in Niger Republic have announced the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, declaring that Eid el-Fitr in the country will be observed on Tuesday.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the new moon in five different states across the country, the BBC Hausa reported on Monday.

Eid el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

Meanwhile, many Islamic and Muslim-majority nations have officially declared Wednesday, April 10, as the first day of celebration of Eid el-Fitr.

Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, and the UAE have all confirmed that Tuesday marks the completion of the holy month of Ramadan, with Eid el-Fitr celebration starting Wednesday.
