The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported an increase in the number of Covid-19 fatalities, putting the toll at 590 from 573 a day before.
The NCDC, in its daily update posted on Twitter, said as at Tuesday the number of cases recorded has reached 25,694, with Lagos State accounting for over 40 percent of the nation’s total.
The number of patients who have recovered has also risen to 9,746.
Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has urged the people of the state not to accept reports indicating the presence of coronavirus in the state.
He also dismissed reports that the state’s chief judge Nasiru Ajanah, died of Covid-19 despite passing away at an isolation centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Bello said Ajanah had been battling illness long before the arrival of coronavirus in Nigeria.
