Nigeria Customs Service wins 2022 Technology Awards

The Nigeria Customs Service emerged winner in the 2022 Technology Awards of excellence in adopting emerging technologies and excellence in technology deployment categories.

The awards which reflect the tremendous efforts made by the Nigeria Customs Service under the leadership of the Comptroller General on the digital transformation agenda were presented by the Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) to promote and celebrate the excellent achievements of Nigeria’s Technology professionals and organizations as they contribute towards building a sustainable economy using technology.

Ag. Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Human Resource Development, Saidu Galadima who represented the service during the occasion presented the awards on Thursday to the Comptroller General of Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) CFR at Customs Headquarters, Abuja.

In his response, the Comptroller General of Customs appreciated the organizers and promised to sustain this tempo by leveraging more on technology to effectively achieve the Service’s core functions of revenue, generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling.

It will be recalled that the Nigeria Customs Service recently launched the Fast Track 2.0 program aimed at improving trade facilitation and revenue mobilization with the aid of technology.
