Nigeria reports sharp drop in Covid-19 cases

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 506 new cases of Covid-19 for Sunday, representing a sharp drop from the 1,588 infections recorded on Saturday.

Twenty deaths were however recorded, pushing the casualty figure from 1,647 to 1,667.

According to the figures for Sunday, Ondo topped the list with 90 infections, followed by Kwara with 89 and Rivers with 53.

The others are Borno-45, Gombe-32, FCT-28, Imo-26, Ogun-25, Lagos-22, Kaduna-14, Kano-14, Edo-13, Cross River-10, Yobe-9, Ekiti-7, Kebbi-6, Nasarawa-6, Oyo-5 and Jigawa-1.

Total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria now stands at 139,748, out of which 113,525 patients recovered and were discharged. Total number of deaths also stands 1,667.
