Nigeria signs MoU with Saudi Arabia on 2023 Hajj

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) a pre- agreement document stating the guidelines to be adopted for the 2023 Hajj.

The delegation which has the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,Amb. Zubair Dada as the head.. It also includes,

Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Rep Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba, Chairman, House Committee on Pilgrimage, Chairman/CEO, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, some NAHCON Board members, stakeholders and staff.

Other itinerary of the team during the visit includes

(i) Attending an Exhibition on Hajj and Umrah
(ii) Meeting with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA)
(iii) Meeting with Mutawif Company for Africa Non-Arab Countries
(iv) Meeting with Adillah Establishment in Madinah
(v) Meeting with Deputy Minister of Hajj for Umrah and Ziyarah, Madinah
(vi) Meeting with Ministry of Hajj & Umrah (Pilgrims’ E-track system Department)
(vii) Meeting with General Cars Syndicate
(viii) Meeting with the United Agents Office
(ix) Meeting with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB)
(x) Meeting with the Executives of the State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards/Agencies/Commissions
(xi) Meeting with representatives of Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON)
(xii) Verification of Accommodation Providers’ Offices and Inspection of Caterers’ Kitchens in Makkah and Madinah
(xiii) Screening of Accommodation and Catering Providers
(xiv) Visitation of Other Five (5) Mutawif Companies

The signing of the M.O.U. signals the commencement of operational activities for the 2023 Hajj and the Commission is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the 2023 Hajj operation is more successful.

In its attempt to ensure complete success of the 2023 Hajj operation, the Commission is carrying along all the stakeholders for synergy and effective service delivery.

On this note, the Commission is appealing to all stakeholders and the general public for cooperation, useful advice and objective criticism that will aid in achieving more successful Hajj operation.
