Obasanjo pays condolence visit to Joda’s family in Yola

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Ahmed Joda, who died on Friday.

Obasanjo was received by the Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The former president had earlier paid a glowing tribute to Joda, describing him “as not just a Nigerian, but, a true and great Nigerian, committed to unity, development and progress of the country”.

Obasanjo, who said Joda was his friend for 60 years, commended Fintiri for the giant stride in developmental projects within the state by constructing an overhead bridge in Yola, which has given the state a new look.

He said he was impressed with the infrastructural development he saw within the State Capital, which has transformed Yola compared to what he used to know.

He further said, “The last time I was in Adamawa not too long ago there was no flyover and now there is flyover which is very good”.

The August visitor was accompanied to the Yola International Airport by Fintiri and other top Government officials to tender a farewell from Yola.
