Global online trading platform Olymptrade has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to provide food assistance and sustainable livelihood support to 1,100 vulnerable households across Lagos.
The two-phase initiative was held at the Food Bank’s warehouse in Ikeja in June and July 2026, combining immediate relief with long-term resilience programs.
On 20 June 2026, Olymptrade joined the Lagos Food Bank’s Temporary Food Assistance Program. A total of 1,000 food boxes were distributed to families in Alimosho, Orile-Agege, Oshodi, and Mushin. Each box contained essential food staples, household necessities, and non-food items such as clothing, shoes, and bags. Beneficiaries included elderly women, widows, and visually impaired men. The distribution reached an estimated 5,000 people.
On 4 July 2026, the partnership shifted focus to sustainable food production through the Family Farming outreach. Olymptrade supported 100 households with agricultural starter kits and hands-on training in poultry, snail, and vegetable farming. The program is designed to improve access to fresh produce and create new income sources for families.
“Together, these efforts balance immediate assistance with long-term solutions, addressing urgent needs while contributing to sustainable community development,” the partners said in a statement.
The initiative adds to Olymptrade’s broader humanitarian work under its “Care that counts” philosophy. The company says it has supported communities in Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Syria and other countries with food assistance, healthcare services, and relief supplies.
