Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Saturday described his late political godfather, Senator JKN Waku as a symbol of humility, unity and passion.
The Governor spoke at the Makurdi residence of late Senator JKN Waku during the traditional marriage between the daughter of the deceased, Susan Dooyum Waku and her hearthrob, Toheel Olanrewaju who hails from Ogun State.

Governor Ortom noted that as the first political son of late Senator Waku, he could attest to the fact that the deceased’s political strategy knew no bound, stressing that late Senator Waku accompanied him to wherever he went for campaigns even though they were from different political parties.
He stated that the deceased Senator was a friend to all who loved and complemented everyone in politics, urging that Benue people and Nigerians should eschew politics of bitterness and acrimony for the unity and development of the country.
The Governor stated that the precarious security challenges in the country requires all efforts to fix it, saying all must rise and defend the country against unpatriotic elements.
Governor Ortom congratulated the bride and groom and prayed that their union will serve as a uniting force between the Tiv and Yoruba nations.
While praying God to bless the union, he added that the marriage would add value to the cordial relationship between Tiv and Yoruba Nation.
The Governor urged the couple to always trust and love God for the success of their union.
