Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan and five state governors and many ministers converged on Azare for the wedding fatihah of Barrister Fatima Zahrah Adamu, a daughter of the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu.
The wedding fatiha was presided over by the Chief imam of Azare Central Mosque with the sum of N200,000 pronounced paid as dowry. Shortly after the wedding, Governor Bala Mohammed led the Vice President and other invited guests for a homage to Emir of Katagum Alh Umar Faruq II.

Governors at the wedding included Senator Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir (Bauchi), Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Simon Lalong (Plateau) and Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa). There were also former Governors of Bauchi Muhammed Abdullahi Abubakar and Jigawa Saminu Turaki ,Borno Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and many other important Dignitaries.
Other top government functionaries, traditional and community leaders from all walks of life also attended the wedding.
A Presidential Jet carrying the Vice President and his entourage arrived Azare town around 12pm for the wedding that took place at Azare Central Mosque, in Azare Headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Ministers of Communication and Digital Economy Isa Ali Pantami, Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Muhammed and that of State for Education Emeka Nwajiuba, politicians and top government functionaries.
They commended the Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed, Emir of Katagum Umar Farouk II and the entire Katagum emirate for the warm reception accorded them and advise the couplesl to be patient with each other.
