The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Iyorchia Ayu is trending on social media after a gaffe at the party’s presidential rally in Kano on Thursday.
Speaking at the well-attended event at the Sani Abacha Stadium Ayu said, “We are supposed to be the leaders in Africa and everywhere in the world we should be respected. PDP hasbrought us shame and we will not continue to retain them in power.”
A video of the gaffe is still trending on social media, drawing mixed reactions among netizens.
Reacting, spokesperson of the APc Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo said, “In Kano today, Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP National Chairman, confessed that PDP has brought shame and we should not retain them in power.
“This obvious costly slip-of-tongue will not make any headlines. Watch out for some Press reports on this!”
