Prof. Janet Punyit Plang, the wife of Senator representing Plateau Central, Diket Plang, has died.
The death of the Professor of Gender Studies and Gerontology and first female Head of Department of Sociology at the University of Jos was announced by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State. .
Commenting, Senator Simon Bako Lalong (APC, Plateau South), expressed deep shock and regret over the sad news.
Lalong says he is grieved by the news of the death of Prof. Janet, a mother, an astute academician, woman leader and a community mentor.
