Police recover three stolen vehicles, arrest five suspects in Kano 

The Kano State Police Command has recovered three stolen motor vehicles and arrested five suspects in connection with armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.

The spokesperson of the command, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement in Kano on Wednesday.

Kiyawa said the command’s team of Special Intervention Squad (SIS), on January 3, 2026, ntercepted a stolen Toyota Corolla motor vehicle along Hotoro NNPC roundabout, Kano State, along with a suspect, Mohammad Ismail, 25 years old, male, of Wuntin Dada Quarters, Bauchi State.

He said “Discreet investigations led to the arrest of four additional suspects: Abdullahi Ishaq, 23 years old, Abdullahi Bashir, 24 years old, Nasir Muhammad, 23 years old, and Nuru Muhammad, 25 years old.

“The suspects confessed to stealing the vehicle from Bauchi, and another motor vehicle, a Honda Pilot Jeep, property of Bauchi State Government, which was sent to Plateau State and was also recovered.

“In another incident, on 6th January 2026, a Toyota Seina motor vehicle with number plate RBC-801HM, maroon in color, suspected to have been stolen, was abandoned and recovered at an isolated area in Hotoro North, Kano by Police Officers attached to Hotoro Division Kano.

“The owner is requested to come forward with proof of ownership to PPRO Office, Kano State Police Command, or contact: 09065885622.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, commended the officers for their dedication and commitment to duty, and thanked the good people of the state for their continued support and cooperation.”
