Rano emir appoints Reps leader Ado Doguwa as Sardauna, kingmaker

The Emir of Rano Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Inuwa has appointed the Majority Leader in the  House of Representatives, Honourable Ado Alhassan Doguwa, member representing Doguwar/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency  as the first Sardaunan Rano and a King Maker in the Emirate.

In a colourful ceremony for the presentation of the letter of appointment on Sunday, 15th March, 2021 in Doguwa village, the Emir said the appointment was in recognition of the enormous contributions of Hon. Ado Doguwa towards the development of the Emirate in particular, Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Emir who assigned a powerful delegation of traditional rulers including the District Head of Doguwa and Dan Adalan Rano, Alhaji Abdullahi Iliyasu, the District Head of Tudun Wada and Dankadan Rano, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Inuwa as well as Sallaman Rano Alhaji Abdulrashid Ya’u to personally present the letter said Honourable Doguwa has made the Emirate proud. 

While presenting the letter on behalf of the Emir, the Sallaman Rano noted that Honourable Ado Doguwa was chosen for the title of Sardaunan Rano in view of his sterling qualities and selfless service to community which proudly contributed in no small measure in the development of the area. 

“Your appointment as Sardaunan Rano and one of the King Makers in Rano Emirate was deliberate and a recognition of your zeal for the development of your community.

“The Emir, after due consideration of your laudable contributions, came to the apt conclusion that no one is more qualified to be given this title more than you, Honourable Ado Alhassan Doguwa,” he said.

The Emir, while praying for long reign, also said it is expected that it will further boost his morale to do more for his people by bringing developmental projects and other development initiatives.

He disclosed that Rano Emirate is very much proud of Honourable Ado Doguwa who had been a good ambassador of the Émirate.

In his brief remarks, the District Head of Doguwa, Alhaji Abdullahi Iliyasu, said this honour was not for Honourable Ado Doguwa alone, but to the entire people of his constituency.

Also, the representative of the Ado Garba family, an elder brother to the recipient, Alhaji Ahmad Ado Doguwa, said they feel highly honoured by this recognition to one of the members of their family.

He thanked the Emir for this special recognition and promised that they will never disappoint the Émir and the entire people of the Émirate. 

In his acceptance speech shortly after receiving the letter of appointment, Honourable Doguwa described the day as one of his happiest moment.

“Today, I consider it as one of my happiest moment and In Sha Allah, I will never disappoint you. Indeed, it will inspire me the more,” he declared.

Honourable Doguwa said he will forever cherish this singular recognition and that it will further ginger him to do more in service to humanity and his community.

Rano Émirate is one of the oldest kingdoms in ancient Hausa state which dated back to several centuries.

The ceremony was attended by thousands of people from across the state and beyond.
