Report on Tudun Biri bombing mishap out by month end – CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher G. Musa, has said that the report on the bombing mishap in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, will be released by the end of this month.

Dateline Nigeria reports that no fewer than 85 people were killed when a military drone mistakenly dropped bomb twice on residents celebrating Maulud in December 2023.

According to General Musa, the investigation has largely been concluded, and the report should be ready by the end of this February.

“Actually, we needed some information: names of those that died, what happened to those who sustained injuries, these were things we tried to get, but we couldn’t get all because of the victims had already been buried.

“We wouldn’t want to exhume corpses because we don’t want to reopen the matter. But the report is ready; God willing, it would be released before the end of this month (February) so that people will know what really happened,” the CDS was reported by the BBC as saying.

He restated the commitment of the Nigerian military towards protecting the people and dislodging criminals. He also reiterated his earlier remark that what happened in Tudun Biri was a mistake.
