Rightsizing: El-Rufai disengages 19 political appointees

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has approved the disengagement of some political appointees in continuation of the rightsizing exercise of his government.

These officials constitute the first phase of political appointees to depart the public service during the current exercise. Officials who are exiting include two Special Advisers, a Deputy Chief of Staff and several Special Assistants.

Dateline Nigeria reports that El-Rufai is engaged in a stand-off with labour unions over the sacking of civil servants.

A statement from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House said that Malam Nasir El-Rufai has thanked the departing officials for their services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Political appointees leaving the Kaduna State public service in the first phase of rightsizing are as follows:

Bala Yunusa Mohammed, Deputy Chief of Staff Legislative; Halima Musa Nagogo, Special Assistant to DCOSL; Umar Abubakar, Special Assistant to DCOSL; Ben S. D. Kure, Special Adviser Political; Mustapha Lynda Nyusha, Special Assistant to SAD Pol; and Jamilu Gwarzala Dan Mutum, Special Assistant to SAD Pol.

Others are: Umar Haruna, Special Assistant Political; Zainab Shehu, Special Adviser Social Development; Stephen Hezron, Special Assistant to SAD SD; Mohammed Bello Shuaibu, SSA Stakeholder Relations; Aliyu Haruna, SSA Youth; Halima Idris, SA Creative Arts.

The rest: Engr. Aliyu Alhaji Salihu, DG Public Procurement Authority; Ashiru Zuntu, SA Community Relations; Saida Sa’ad, SSA; Elias Yahaya, SA Programmes; Tasiu Suleiman Yakaji, SA to SSG; Samuel Hadwayah, SA Economic Matters; and Ahmed Mohammed Gero SSA Environment
