Sokoto to partner technology incubation centre to promote digital innovation

The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy (MIDE) undertook an inspection visit to the Technology Incubation Center (TIC) in Sokoto State as part of its Digital Tour 2024.

The delegation, headed by the Honorable Commissioner, Hon. Bashar Umar Kwabo, aims to collaborate on technical training to promote Techpreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the state, leveraging digital innovations to ensure sustainability.

During the briefing on TIC’s business activities, Eng. Abubakar Ahmad, the Center’s Manager, highlighted the center’s pivotal role in providing essential resources such as physical space, financial assistance, networking opportunities, and mentorship to help startups establish and scale up their businesses effectively.

Mr. Kwabo assured the TIC management of the state government’s commitment to poverty alleviation through job creation under the leadership of Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto PhD FCNA.

He reiterated the ministry’s dedication to exploring partnership opportunities with TIC as part of the state’s approved 10,000 youth Technical Training Programs under the Ministry.

In response, Eng. Ahmad expressed gratitude for the ministry’s initiative and assured the Commissioner of his organisation’s readiness to support the State Government’s efforts.

Highlight of the event was the Ministry’s inspection of facilities and Startups domiciled at the Centre.
