Support military to end banditry, Sultan urges Nigerians

The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called on the general public to support the military to end banditry in Nigeria.

He made the call when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division/Commander Joint Task Force (Northwest) Operation HADARIN DAJI Major General Uwem U Bassey paid him a courtesy visit in his palace today Monday 30 August 2021.

His Eminence said that defeating banditry is a collective responsibility that everyone must contribute significantly either in terms of information or logistics support.

He, therefore, assured the GOC of his commitment and continuous support towards bringing peace to the Northwest and the country at large.

The sultan further urges the GOC to collaborate with stakeholders both at higher and local levels to get the credible intelligence that will assist the military in the conduct of its operations.

Responding the GOC/Commander Joint Task Force (Northwest) operation HADARIN DAJI Major General Uwem U Bassey said he would continue to count on traditional rulers support especially his eminence who has a alot of military experience.

He add that the ongoing military operations has involve all stakeholders to ensure successful operations. Synergy and collaborations will be his major effort in dealing with other security agencies he stated.
