Survival fund: FG to open portal for artisans, transporters October 1

Artisans and transporters seeking to apply for N30,000 grants meant to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic can do so starting from October 1, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Mariam Yalwaji Katagum has said.

Speaking at a media forum in Abuja, the minister said 333,000 artisans and transporters will benefit from the grant under the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Survival Fund.

The scheme will start with 12 states – Lagos, Kano, Rivers, Bauchi, Kaduna, Plateau, Borno, Ekiti, Anambra, Abia, and the FCT – on October 1.

The minister said 174, 574 MSME operators have so far registered for the Survival Fund. Kano, Kaduna and Lagos recorded the highest number of applicants within the first 24 hours of opening the portal.
