Tazkiyah University Kaduna matriculates pioneer students

Tazkiyah University Kaduna has conducted its maiden matriculation ceremony, where a total of 120 students were matriculated into various academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The ceremony, which on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the University Multipurpose Hall, was graced by the Emir of Zazzau Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, represented by Alhaji Musa Ibrahim Bamalli.

The Proprietor, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, members of the Tazkiyah University Board of Trustees, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faruk Sarkinfada and members of the University Management as well as other distinguished personalities attended the event.

In his opening address, the Registrar, Alhaji Bashir Abubakar, highlighted the purpose of matriculation as a ceremony in which students are officially admitted and recognized as bona fide students, with rights and privileges in accordance with the regulations of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Sarkinfada, declared the ceremony open and administered the matriculation oath to the students drawn from the three take-off faculties of Allied Health Sciences, Computing, and Management and Social Sciences, covering twelve programmes of study.

In his address, he revealed that the goal of establishing Tazkiyah University is to create a safe environment for women’s education as a catalyst for building stronger communities and nations, as well as empowering women for economic development.

He also emphasized the special interest and concern of the initiator of the University for orphaned girls, noting that any profits that might be generated from the investment would be directed towards supporting the education of the orphaned female child.

He further highlighted the philosophy of the University in fostering national and international integration for peaceful coexistence among different cultures, races, and religions, adding that the current cohort of pioneer students comprises both Christian and Muslim students.

In his keynote address, the Proprietor, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, expressed profound appreciation to all those who worked tirelessly from the planning stages to accreditation, infrastructure development, and the recruitment of competent staff, describing the journey as one that required faith, resilience, and commitment.

He congratulated the matriculating students and urged them to remain committed to their studies, respect their lecturers, and abide by the University regulations. He also commended the parents and guardians for entrusting the University with the education and development of their children, assuring them of the institution’s commitment to nurturing the students morally, socially, and emotionally in a safe, religious, and value-driven academic environment.

He further appreciated members of the academic and non-academic staff for their dedication to upholding the vision of the University and their contributions to academic excellence, moral integrity, and innovation in training students for service to humanity.

In his remarks, Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, represented by Alhaji Musa Ibrahim Bamalli, lauded the establishment of the University as a remarkable and pioneering initiative and assured continued support from the Zazzau Emirate Council towards the realization of its objectives.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Yahuza Suleiman, Registrar of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, NBAIS, and member of the Tazkiyah University Board of Trustees. In his closing, he sincerely appreciated the presence and support of all attendees.
