Tears as Dan Iyan Zazzau Yusuf Ladan buried in Kaduna

Tears flowed freely on Tuesday during the burial of veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Yusuf Ladan, Dan Iyan Zazzau, who died same day at the age of 86.

The late Dan Iya had endured a long, protracted battle with illness that took him in and out of hospital.

His funeral prayer was led by Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi at the Maiduguri Road Jumu’at mosque, where he was a regular for his five daily prayers in Kaduna.

The prayer was attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, veteran broadcasters, family members, neighbours, retired and serving government officials, among others.

He was buried at the Bashama Road Muslim cemetery in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

“This is a huge loss for all of us. Dan Iya participated in every community endeavour be it wedding events, naming ceremonies and even burials.

“He was a regular at the mosque even when visibly ill. The good testimonies people are sharing about him should be a source of joy to us. May Almighty Allah forgive him and grant him paradise,” the chief Imam of Maiduguri Road Jumu’at mosque Imam Dahiru Lawal Abubakar said.
