An Abuja-bound train from Kaduna has crushed a woman to death as she drove across rail tracks in Chikakore community, Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The victim was later identified as Hajiya Selimota Idowu, a principal accountant with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Channel 5 Abuja.
The FCT Police Command has since launched investigation into the accident. The spokesperson of the command, Josephine Adeh, said “Findings and safety tips already existing will soon be reiterated to ensure a non-repeat of such an incident.”
Videos of the incident have also appeared on social media platforms, eliciting mixed reactions.
