
Nigerian professional footballer Sadiq Umar, who plays for La Liga club Valencia CF, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to AA RANO Group of Companies in honour of its Chairman/CEO, Alh. Abdullahi Auwalu Rano, popularly known as AA Rano.
The visit, announced by AA RANO Group on its official Facebook page, was in recognition of the industrialist’s contributions to business development, youth empowerment, philanthropy and community service in Kaduna State and beyond.
Sadiq Umar, a proud indigene of Kaduna State and part owner of the Kaduna-based Ranchers Bees FC, expressed appreciation for what he described as the inspiring leadership and positive impact of Dr. Abdullahi Auwalu Rano, particularly in creating opportunities and empowering young Nigerians.
As a gesture of respect, the Super Eagles striker presented the AA RANO boss with a customized jersey branded “AA RANO” with the number 10. The number, traditionally worn by playmakers in football, symbolized admiration and recognition of AA Rano’s influence.

AA RANO Group said the visit highlighted the connection between sports and impactful leadership, while reinforcing the values of excellence, hard work and community development that the company continues to champion.
“We appreciate the visit and wish Sadiq Umar continued success in his football career,” the statement read.
AA RANO Industries is one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous oil and gas companies with interests across downstream, logistics, aviation and other sectors. The company has been active in youth empowerment initiatives and community development projects, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
Sadiq Umar, 27, joined Valencia CF in 2023 and has represented Nigeria at senior level, scoring key goals for the Super Eagles in World Cup and AFCON qualifiers.
