The Chairman Senate Committee on Defense and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Sarkin Yamman sokoto has attended the 2022 Annual Igbo Day celebration and Fund Raising organized by the Igbo Community Residing in sokoto state.
Senator Wamakko was graciously represented by the APC zonal Secretary for North West and Director Youth Mobilization Committee for North West of the 2023 Presidential campaign Council, Bar. Bello Muhammad Goronyo.

Senator Wamakko while appreciating the long bond of cordial relationship existing between the Igbo Community Residing in sokoto state and their host community said, Nigeria has been United for long and it will continue to be so till eternity, therefore no one can break it as its being circulated.
He challenged Igbo Community, to always respect their colleagues even as they has been peacefully without any rancor for long.
Senator Wamakko reminded them that, when he was a Governor of Sokoto state, he appointed one of them to the position of Special Adviser on residents communities, just to be as a liaison Officer between the Government and other communities conducting their lawful business.
Senator Wamakko, through his representative Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo, later announced the donation of Million Naira for the development of the Association, while Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo made his own personal donation of Two Hundred Thousand Naira only.
The occasion which held at the Parade Ground of the Nigeria Immigration Service College old airport, Sokoto, was attended by Many dignitaries within and outside Sokoto state.
