Ebonyi State Governor and Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, David Umahi, on Friday, said he would host the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, to a grand reception.
Umahi, who said he liked Obi and how he had conducted himself ahead of the 2023 general elections, added that he had never spoken against the former Anambra State governor.
“I like what Peter Obi is doing,” the governor said during an interview on Arise TV.
Umahi, who described Obi as a friend, denied saying that the Labour Party candidate would not get any vote in the All Progressives Congress-controlled Ebonyi State.
He said, “I never in all my outings and utterances mentioned Peter Obi. Peter Obi is my friend. I’m going to host him in Ebonyi State and I will host him publicly. I like what he’s doing, and it’s very encouraging.”
