Why people support Obi, Tinubu, Atiku and Sowore – and why others don’t

People support [Peter] Obi because they believe he not corrupt and it is reasonable because he has not been indicted of corruption and he comes across as a nice and disciplined person.

People support [Bola Ahmed] Tinubu because he fearlessly took the economic policy decisions others were too scared to take and he improved our macro economics and he is believed to be taking the painful steps we need before the nation can actually wake up as against just optics and popularist policies.

People support Atiku [Abubakar] because they know him to be experienced and they feel the accusations of corruption is just what Obasanjo used to tarnish his image because he fought against Obasanjo’s third term agenda. Some who personally know him also say he is a kind person who believes in processes.

People are supporting [Omoyele] Sowore because they are tired of the old order and just want this country to refresh its political system and kick out the old brigade. Their argument is that it is not about the goodness of the man, if it was Buhari would have done well; they say it is about the political system and it is what draws us back no matter who is there and Sowore is the only one willing to totally change it.

From these groups there are those against Obi because they do not believe his popularist talk and he does not give specific plans. If you are like me, my take on Obi is that I am not SATISFIED with how he handled Anambra, I want something BETTER (not that he was terrible). Also, I am concerned that he just wants to work without changing the political system. This will not work in my opinion.

Others are against Tinubu because there is corruption in the system; Wike is running mad, Governors and their henchmen are threatening opposition and prices of items are up. Some others feel they are not represented as per faith, I honestly do not think this is not understandable at all.

Some others are against Atiku because he is perceived to be part of those who destroyed Nigeria just from being VP before and they just don’t trust him because they have heard too many stories. Another set of these people just believe all former leaders should go away let’s check something.

Yet others do not support Sowore because they fear he may be inexperienced or simplistic. They opine that he may not have the calm and wisdom to handle sensitive National issue because he is seen as young and reactionary.

THE PROBLEM is when you cannot see why people are against your candidate and simply refute it or convince them. Instead you retort to blackmail and accusation; this one is being paid by government, that one is tribalistic, this other one is unrealistic; your reality is not the reality. Let us have conversations like people who are trying to make a choice together.

Yes I know there are some that only support the camp they can eat from. Wike has confessed to being an example of this and we see them everyday. But there are reasonable people who sincerely do not support your candidate and they are not your enemy; work on them, convince them instead of trading insult.

My candidate is Omoyele Sowore because “experience,” in the sense that we speak of it, has never helped us. I am not even for Sowore because of Tinubu’s performance because aside allowing a system of corruption to continue and his style of politics which affects governance (two things he MAY change IF he has his final ticket), I do not have a problem with other aspects of Tinubu’s leadership.

My main issue for wanting Sowore to win is that I want a total disruption of the POLITICAL SYSTEM; let money no longer win elections, let us have leaders that do not feel obligated to please anybody aside the people who he governs. This is actually ALL for me.

Sell your own candidate on this thread and let us show we can agree and disagree without insults or accusation.
