The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Sen. Abdulazeez Yari, has promised massive grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in Zamfara.
Yari made the promise while addressing reporters in his hometown, Talata Mafara, shortly after a meeting with APC stakeholders from the 147 wards in Zamfara.
He said: “Zamfara will be among the leading states in mobilising massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“We called this meeting to brief critical stakeholders on the responsibility of supporting the Presidential Campaign Council and mobilising voters for the re-election of President Tinubu.”
Yari noted that while it was his responsibility as Director-General to work across all parts of the country, he considered it necessary to begin his mobilisation from his home state, Zamfara.
According to him, Zamfara must strive to be among the top three states with the highest votes for President Tinubu, regardless of the population and economic strength of other states.
The PCC DG said the consultation involved APC working committees at the ward, local government and state levels, as well as other critical stakeholders, and would continue to ensure “the mission is accomplished.”
He urged the stakeholders to give the campaign council all the needed support, explaining that his appointment remained a great opportunity entrusted to him by God to contribute to the success of the party and the country.
Yari expressed confidence that the APC would win the 2027 presidential election with a wide and convincing margin that the opposition would be reluctant to contest.
“The APC will mobilise support across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
“The campaign will be issue-based and will focus on the achievements of the Tinubu administration in the economy, security and other sectors, rather than attacking political opponents,” he noted.
The APC chieftain acknowledged that some of the administration’s economic reforms had brought hardship to Nigerians.
He, however, maintained that such policies were necessary measures aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy.
Yari, who spoke on Tinubu’s tax reforms, said, the policy was to ensure that people pay taxes according to their earnings, while businesses and producers received appropriate tax incentives to encourage investment and production.
The Senator, however, expressed concern over the huge resources being committed to combating insecurity, which, he said, would have been channelled into infrastructure and economic development.
He expressed optimism that the Tinubu administration would overcome the country’s security challenges and redirect such resources towards development and infrastructure.
