Zahra Buhari not an employee of PPPRA – Presidency

The Presidency has said that Zahra Buhari is not an employee of Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) or any other Government Agency.

The presidency was reacting to a story by an online medium that Zahra, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, has fraudulently secured a job with the PPPRA.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina said while Zahra, just like any other Nigerian, can work wherever she secures employment, “we hasten to add that the story is false in every material particular.

“The publication is untrue, malicious, and meant to cast aspersions at the First Family, since the tendentious platform claims the job was secured fraudulently.

“All people of goodwill are enjoined to ignore the hack piece, masquerading as a news story.”

Earlier, a separate statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity (attached to the Office of the First Lady), Aliyu Abdullah, described the report as “a deliberate attempt to peddle FAKE NEWS in order to mislead the General Public.”

He added that the report is mischievous and malicious in all intent. “All necessary steps will be taken to seek redress including reporting to appropriate authority this deliberate act of peddling fake news to the public with a view to ignite hate campaign against the person of Zahra and her family.

“Members of the public are advised not to believe a word from these agents of lies. If their intention was to inform, they will have sought for confirmation of d so called whistleblower account in the spirit of balancing their story as required by the ethics of journalism.”
