Zamfara govt donates money, foodstuff to family of deceased journalist

Zamfara State Government has donated an undisclosed amount of money, assorted food items to the family of late Mohammed Munirat Nasir, a journalist based in the state.

State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, presented the food items and cash to the wife of the deceased, Maryam Mohammed Munirat on behalf of the Zamfara State Government at his residence.

The food items donated included four cartons of Indomie noodles, four bags of rice 50kg, two cartons of Spaghetti, two cartons of Marconi, cooking oil 50kg and 16 packs of swan water.

Governor Matawalle, who was devastated by the sad news, also described late Munirat as a very good man who had an excellent relationship with government and people of the state.

The governor recalled how the deceased reported the state in positive light during his short stay even at the detriment of being sanctioned by some of his colleagues.

Similarly, a delegation from the Ministry of Information led by the Permanent Secretary, Barrister Sani Nasarawa also condoled the state Zamfara state NUJ correspondent chapel over the loss of their member.

Responding, the wife of the deceased, Maryam Mohammed Nasir said she least expected this gesture from the government, adding that she was happy with the encomiums and praises received from her late husband’s colleagues, friends and particularly from Zamfara State Government.
