Zaria is in a difficult situation, says Zazzau emir

The Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli has said that Zaria City is in a difficult situation.

The Emir spoke when the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan led security heads to his Palace, according to BBC Hausa.

He said residents of the city have been sleeping with one eye opened due to the rising cases of kidnapping and banditry.

The monarch, while describing the situation as unacceptable, called on the government to take action.

He said despite the number of military facilities in Zaria, including the Depot Nigerian Army, his people are still living in fear.

Aruwan told the emir that their visit was to reassure the people and sympathise with them over the recent incidents recorded in the area, particularly the attack on Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and surrounding communities.

The commissioner said the government will continue to do its best to secure the emirate and the state as a whole.
