2023: Wike visits Kaduna ex-governor Makarfi

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday visited former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, at his Kaduna residence.

Speaking with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has destroyed the economy and divided the country along ethnic and regional lines.

The politician described Nigeria as a country that is bleeding under the Muhammadu Buhari government.

He advised members of the party to unite and work together in order to rescue the nation from the shackles of the ruling party in the 2023 presidential election.

Wike, however, told thousands of PDP members that came to welcome him to the state that he was not on a political trip but on a courtesy visit to Makarfi who just returned to the country after seeking medical treatment abroad.

In his remark, Makarfi said that Nigerians would be disappointed in the PDP if they don’t unite and take over power from the ruling APC in 2023.

He said going by the election results in recent times where the APC had lost many units at grassroots levels, Nigerians were now tired and were waiting for the PDP to reclaim the presidency.
