2027: APC set to take over power in Bauchi – Shehu Buba

Senator Shehu Buba Umar (APC, Bauchi South) has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will wrest power from the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State come 2027.

Buba, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, said this at the end of the 2024 critical stakeholders meeting held in Bauchi.

He said “The critical stakeholders meeting is for the peace, unity and progress of the party.”

“You can see myself, our House of Representatives members, our honorable ministers, we all attended this meeting and we discussed the unity, peace and justice of the party in the state.

“I am impressed with the turnout. It’s a clear signal that there is no faction in Bauchi APC we are united we are one family”.

“That is a clear indication that the party is ready and willing to take over Bauchi in 2027”

The meeting was attended by Senator Buba, Ministers of Health Professor Ali Pate, and Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf

Tuggar, former Bauchi State Governor Mallam Isa Yuguda, members of the House of Representatives and state assembly, former APC chairmen in the state and representative of the former governorship candidate, Abubakar Sadique, who was attending a national assignment.

In a communique issued to journalists at the end of the meeting on Saturday, the APC in the state unanimously resolved to support President Bola Tinubu administration’s renewed hope agenda and the two ministers from the state.

The communiqué, which was signed by the state Chairman, Muhammad Hassan, also resolved to constitute a discipline mechanism within the party to check erring members at all levels without fear or favour.

“The party shall ensure justice, equity and fairness to all at future congresses, primaries and general elections,” it added.

“We shall stand firm in support of all APC candidates in all future elections.”The communique urged the Federal Government to, re-embark on the Bauchi-Gombe oil project .

Tilde stressed the need to hasten the oil drilling for the collective benefits of the two states in particular and the country at large.

He explained that the meeting was duly constituted by members of the Bauchi State Executive Committee of All Progressives Congress as provided in Article 12.9 of the APC Constitution 2022 (as amended).

A communiqué of the meeting of APC critical stakeholders resolved to maintain peace and unity of the party in the state for the overall collective progress and benefit of the people and agreed that such critical stakeholders meeting of the party shall henceforth be held on quarterly basis, and shall without fear or be discipline to all erring member of the party at all levels

The communiqué also recommended that all palliatives allocation meant for Bauchi state be channeled through the party elected/appointed members from Bauchi state.

“The Party shall ensure justice, equity and fairness to all at future congresses, primaries and general elections. We shall stand firm in support of all APC candidates in all future elections”.

“On the current hardship being faced in the Country, we call on the Federal Government to make further effort to alleviate the suffering of citizens while the citizens shall pray for our leaders to deliver on their mandates”.
