Senator Shehu Buba Umar (APC, Bauchi South) has said that he will respond at the appropriate time to the people of Bauchi, political groups and other agitators calling him to join the governorship race ahead of 2027 election.
Shehu Buba said this in Zaranda Village Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State when he answered question from reporters.
He said “Those agitating for me to aspire for the governorship of Bauchi State in the 2027 elections, I will answer them whether in the affirmative or not at the appropriate time.
“Let’s all pray to God to extend our lives to the appropriate time, and God’s time is the best, as He is also the best Judge” the Senator said.
He added that “it isn’t time for electioneering campaigns. I’m now on the mandate of senatorial representation for a period of four years from which I exhausted only one and a half year.
“So it’s immature to say anything now in this regard. So let me assure you that I am presently sleeplessly keeping to my mandate of legislative duties while diligently serving the people in terms of provision of basic necessities of life”.
He said the time is not ripe for campaigns into elective offices, “it’s time for postering my mandate for the benefits of the electorate, especially in the Bauchi South senatorial district of the state”.
