The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 11 Muslim youths for eating during fasting hours on Tuesday.
Every Ramadan, the Hisbah board monitors eating joints and even markets in Kano to stop those not fasting from openly eating and drinking in the state which is implementing Sharia
Spokesperson of the Hisbah board, Lawal Fagge, told the BBC that those arrested comprise 10 males and one female.
Fagge however said all those arrested have been released after an undertaking that they will not skip fasting again without valid reason.
“We don’t arrest non-Muslims for not fasting because they are not affected,” he added
