Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has performed the groundbreaking for the construction of two strategic roads in the state.
The governor flagged off the construction of a 14.8km Asphaltic Access Road from Danbushiya Junction to Keke A, Keke B, Keke Makera, Doka Mai Jama’a, Sabon Gero to Danhonou 2 in Chikun LGA.
He also performed the groundbreaking for the re-construction of a 21.95km Aphaltic Road from Madauchi to Kafanchan, through Madakiya, linking Matsirga Waterfalls.
“When completed, the asphaltic road from Danbushiya to Danhonou 2 in Chikun LGA will serve approximately 70 communities in Millennium City, significantly improving the social, economic, cultural, and political landscape of the area. It will also enhance security in the city and its surroundings.
“Direct and indirect jobs will be created during the construction period. The road will enhance movement of people and services.
“The Madauchi – Madakiya Road is the most important route in the entire Kafanchan Metropolitan Area. It links communities in Kajjuu chiefdom like Kankada, Madakiya, Rebok, etc, to Oegwrok, Fantswam & Jema’a.
“The road links 3 Local Governments, namely Zango Kataf, Kaura, and Jema’a, enabling the people who are mainly farmers to access markets and services.
“The Madauchi – Madakiya Road reduces the travel time between Kafanchan and Zonkwa by half. It is the only alternate road to the Zonkwa – Samaru – Kagoro Road.
“At the Madauchi to Kafanchan road groundbreaking ceremony, some prominent Kaduna State citizens of Southern Kaduna extraction applauded our administration’s rural transformation drive and sustained efforts at rebuilding trust, especially in Southern Kaduna,” he said.
Chairman of Zangon Kataf, Mr. Francis Sani Zimbo appreciated the Uba Sani administration for prioritising his local government in the execution of projects, adding that his people are solidly behind our government.
Senator Sunday Katung expressed his deep appreciation to the state government for listening to the cries of Southern Kaduna people and taking decisive steps to address the infrastructure deficits in the area.
While commending the Uba Sani administration for prioritizing the security and welfare of the people, he stated that the people of Southern Kaduna have no reason not to give their utmost support to the administration for de-emphasizing politics and focusing on development.
In his vote of thanks, the Agwam Kajju, Chief Luka Yabuwat commended the administration for responding promptly to his people’s request for the reconstruction of the strategic road, adding that the action is unprecedented.
The Danbushiya to Danhonou 2, and Madauchi to Kafanchan road projects are the latest road projects that have been undertaken by our administration to address Kaduna State’s road infrastructure deficits, bridge the urban – rural divide, and improve the living conditions of the people.
“We have so far performed the groundbreaking of 60 roads across Kaduna State, totalling 780km. Some of the roads have been completed and commissioned, while others are in advanced stages of completion.
“In addition, we have ensured that contractors are adequately funded to meet project deadlines, especially during the rainy season,” Uba Sani said.
