Kaduna gears up for 2025 Inter-African Trade Fair

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, today chaired a high-level meeting to commence preparations for the state’s participation in the 2025 Inter-African Trade Fair (IATF) scheduled for September in Algiers, Algeria.

The strategic planning meeting brought together key state officials including the Commissioners of Business, Innovation and Technology, Agriculture, and Environment, alongside heads of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency and Kaduna Mining Development Company as well as the Special Adviser on Investment Promotion.

This early preparation builds on the success of Kaduna’s participation in the 2024 IATF in Cairo, Egypt, where the state secured a significant commitment from the African Export-Import Bank (AFRIEXIM) to construct an African Quality Assurance Centre in Kaduna. The center, which under construction, aims to enhance agricultural produce standardization and promote exports from the region.

The state’s proactive approach to international trade and investment opportunities aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s administration’s vision to boost private investment and accelerate economic development through regional and international collaborations.

The upcoming IATF in Algiers presents another opportunity for Kaduna State to attract investors and establish strategic partnerships that will further develop its agricultural and mining sectors, building on the momentum gained from the Cairo trade fair.
