Gov. Yusuf approves N200m vehicle loan for teachers in Kano

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a N200 million vehicle loan scheme for teachers in primary and secondary schools across the state.

The loan scheme is designed to assist teachers in acquiring vehicles to ease transportation challenges and improve their overall productivity and commitment to duty.

Governor Yusuf made the disclosure during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of instructional materials to public schools, as part of his administration’s comprehensive education reform.

“We recognize the critical role teachers play in shaping the future of our children. This loan initiative is part of our broader strategy to support their welfare and uplift the teaching profession in Kano State,” the governor said.

The loan will be disbursed under transparent and flexible terms, targeting teachers who have demonstrated dedication and service in their respective schools.

This intervention adds to several education-focused initiatives introduced by the Yusuf administration, including the distribution of N2.8 billion worth of instructional materials, recruitment of 4,000 BESDA staff, deployment of 17,600 school security guards, and solarization of 200 schools with digital learning tools.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to improving both the infrastructure and human capital components of education, describing teachers as the foundation of lasting development.
