The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has conferred a prestigious Merit Award on the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani.
The honour, which falls under the Non-Member Accountant Category, was bestowed upon the Governor at the ICAN Annual Dinner and Merit Award Ceremony held Saturday at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.
The Non-Member Accountant Category award is reserved for distinguished professionals who, though not accountants themselves, have made outstanding contributions in their fields while demonstrating strong support for the accounting profession.
Senator Uba Sani was lauded for his impactful leadership and unwavering support for financial accountability and good governance in Kaduna State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the governor, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, led a strong delegation of state officials to the ceremony.

Among them were the State Accountant General, Bashir Zuntu; Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Rabi Salisu; and the Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hafsat Aminu Ashiru.

The event brought together industry leaders, policy makers, and professionals from across the country in an elegant atmosphere charged with recognition, reflection, and renewed commitment to excellence.
