In the spirit of the 2025 Sallah celebration and in fulfilment of its statutory responsibilities as outlined in the NSCDC Act No. 2 of 2003 (as amended in 2007), the Female Squad of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) led a coordinated security operation across the Federal Capital Territory on June 6, 2025.
With a strong commitment to protecting lives and property, the squad conducted strategic route patrols around major worship centres, including the National Eid Ground by the City Gate, to ensure a peaceful environment for Muslim faithful and dignitaries, including the Vice President, to observe their prayers safely. Their presence reassured worshippers and contributed to a smooth, hitch-free celebration.
Beyond security coverage, the Female Squad demonstrated empathy and community spirit by engaging with children at the prayer grounds, distributing items such as shoes and drinks as a gesture of love and support.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with key units of the Corps—Operations, Intelligence, Medical, Disaster Management, Special Forces, Crack Squad, CG-SIS, Mining Marshals, Dog Kennel Unit, CBRN Response Team, and FCT Command personnel. It was further strengthened by joint efforts with sister agencies, including the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
A post-prayer show of force was conducted across major areas such as Gwarimpa, Wuse, Area 1, Utako, Berger, and Gudu, reinforcing the Corps’ visibility and readiness. No security incidents were recorded, and the exercise was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The NSCDC remains committed to fostering a safe and secure environment where citizens can celebrate their faith and traditions without fear, while promoting unity, compassion, and national cohesion.
