Army, NDLEA arrest suspects, recover drugs and weapons in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested several suspects and recovered illicit drugs and weapons during coordinated raids in Katsina State.

The joint security operation targeted known criminal hideouts in the Wagin, Tundu Mobi, and Chadawaki communities within the Batsari Local Government Area.

Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, disclosed this in an official statement released on Tuesday.

According to Danja, the raid yielded a locally fabricated firearm loaded with five cartridges, alongside a large quantity of illicit substances and other incriminating exhibits.

The military has since handed over all arrested suspects and seized items to the Katsina State command of the NDLEA for profiling, interrogation, and subsequent prosecution.

Reacting to the development, the Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA praised the troops for their high level of vigilance and tactical gallantry. He also reaffirmed the military’s strict commitment to intensifying offensive campaigns against bandits and terrorists operating across Nigeria’s North West region.
