The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the deployment of a new Commandant for the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudi and eight Commissioners of Police to various states.
Mr Torty Kalu, the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of PSC said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the approval for the deployment of the new Commandant, Mr Auwal Mohammed, an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and the eight CPs were part of the decisions reached at a meeting of the commission.
Kalu said the meeting was presided over by Justice Paul Galumje, a Board Member and Commissioner 1, in the Commission,
He said the newly deployed commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudi, Kano State, was an officer with over 33 years of experience in operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing and training.
According to him, he holds a B.Sc in Political Science, M.Sc in Public Policy from Bayero University and has served as Commandant Police College Maiduguri, CP Bauchi, and AIG Zone 3 and Zone 6.
He said the new commandant is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Kalu said the newly deployed CPs are Afolabi Olutokunbo, Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan, Plateau, Saka Ajao, Bayelsa, Ajo Ordue Cross River, Nnanna Ama, Anambra, Patrick, Edo, Tijani Murtala, Jigawa and Samuel Etaifo, Delta.
He said the postings followed the promotions of former CPs in the various states to the rank of AIGs, adding that the idea was to sustain operational exigencies.
Kalu said Galumje, who presided over the meeting had enjoined the senior officers to be firm, uphold the rule of law, and remain neutral and diligent in the discharge of their duties. (NAN)
