Yobe governor condoles family of twin doctors who died two days apart

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has condoled with the family of twin sisters, Dr Hadiya Usman and Dr Aidah Usman, who died two days apart.

This is contained in a statement by Buni’s Focal Person, Digital and Strategic Communication, Mr Yusuf Ali, in Damaturu on Monday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hadiya, a medical doctor with Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, died on Friday.

Her twin sister, Aidah, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), died on Sunday.

The sisters, who died of natural causes, were daughters of Dr Hadiza Usman, Chief Medical Director of the medical centre.

Buni described their deaths as heartbreaking, painful and devastating to the family, medical profession and people of Yobe.

The governor prayed Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant them eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed Allah to grant their mother and other family members strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

NAN also reports that the governor had earlier sent a delegation to Nguru to convey his condolences to the bereaved family.

The delegation was jointly led by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Abba Idriss Adam, and the Commissioner for Health, Mr Muhammad Lawan Gana. (NAN)
