The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria, Mal. Nafiu Baba-Ahmed, has passed on.
The death of the Islamic scholar was announced by a family member early Tuesday morning.
His funeral prayer (janazah) will hold today at the National Mosque Abuja after Zuhr prayers, Aminu Baba-Ahmed, a nephew of the deceased, posted on Facebook.
Dateline Nigeria reports that Mal. Nafiu Baba Ahmed, an Islamic scholar and legal practitioner, was recognized for advancing Islamic advocacy, legal scholarship, policy engagement, and institutional leadership in promoting justice and religious rights.
