The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, says Nigeria and Niger Republics are one and the same
The former Governor of Sokoto State spoke on Sunday in Sokoto, at his Sahabi Dange Road, Gawon Nama, Sokoto residence, when he received his Nigerien friend and ally, Ambassador Rabi’u Akawu, the Chairman, Nigeria and Niger Joint Commission.
Ambassador Akawu was visiting Nigeria for the meeting of the commission planned for Monday, Wamakko’s spokesman Bashir Rabe Mani said in a statement.
His visit to Wamakko was aimed at strengthening the extant cordial relationship between the Nigerian lawmaker and the Nigerien President, Alhaji Muhammadou Isoufou, as well as Prime Minister, Brigi Rafini.
Wamakko expressed delight that the visit will solidify the existing relations between Nigeria and Niger Republic.
