Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya on Friday attended the wedding fatiha of daughter of his political associate and former minister of transport, Sen. Abdullahi Idris Umar; Barrister Zainab Idris Umar and her groom, Umar Sanda Abubakar which took place at the Annur Juma’at Mosque, Abuja.
Dignitaries, including Governors of Ekiti and Kebbi states, Minister of Aviation and his Environment counterpart, National Assembly Members, Group Managing Director of NNPC, former Governor of Bauchi state, former ministers, Emir of Yamaltu and other notable politicians and government functionaries graced the occasion.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Sheikh Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami presided over the wedding fatiha and contracted the marriage between Zainab and Umar in line with Islamic injunction.
The Governor also witnessed other weddings conducted at the Mosque, including that of his brother in-law, Aminu Rabiu Baba.
Governor Yahaya congratulated the brides and grooms as well as their respective parents on the auspicious occasion, admonishing the couples to put God first in their affairs and build their marriages on trust, patience and respect as well as remain prayerful all through.
