Zamfara State Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau has visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Gusau said he briefed Atiku on the recent political development in Zamfara which saw the Governor Bello Matawalle dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mentor and a father figure, the former Former Vice President of our dear Nation, H.E. Atiku Abubakar at his residence.
“I briefed him on the current status of our Great Party in my State and discussed future strategy’s for our people,” Gusau said in a post on his Instagram page.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the Zamfara Deputy Governor has refused to follow his boss to the APC, vowing to remain in the PDP.
“We have been in this party since it was brought here by my father (General Aliyu Muhammad Gusau) and we will remain in it,” he said.
Mahdi Aliyu Gusau also expressed support for the decision of the PDP to challenge Matawalle’s defection to the APC.
