
The Emir of Ringim, Alhaji Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmud, has conferred the title of Koguna on Isa Dogonyaro, a Special Assistant on Security and Intelligence, Office of the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.
A notification of conferment by Katikan Ringim and Secretary of the Emirate, Alhaji Kamal Hassan Ringim, said, “I have been directed to inform you that His Highness the Emir of RIngin, Alh. (Dr) Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmud has conferred on you the traditional title of Kogunan Ringim.”

The notification is dated 22 December 2021, The turbanning ceremony will hold on January 7, 2022 at the Emir’s Palace in Ringim by 9am
Also announcing the conferment on his Facebook page, Dogonyaro said the title of Koguna is the first in Ringim Emirate and “is being conferred on me with the high expectation that I will continue in service to my people and the Emirate as a whole.”
“My family and I kindly solicit your prayers and well wishes for Allah to guide and protect me in the discharge of this responsibility. Ameen,” he posted on Wednesday.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the Dan Iyan Ringim and District Head of Garki Alhaji Kabiru Sayyadi had on January 1, 2021 turbaned Dogonyaro as Garkuwan Garki, a title previously held by his late mother Hajiya Laila Dogonyaro, a founding member of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa (JMA) and former president of the National Council of Women’s Societies.
