The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has said that it is ready to face the two major political parties in the country – All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – in the 2023 elections.
PRP, which held its national convention on Saturday in Abuja, said it has already started working towards the coming elections.

Falalu Bello, who was reelected as the party’s national chairman, told the BBC that they will soon sit and elect candidates that will fly the party’s flag in 2023.
He said as the oldest among the existing parties in the countries the PRP is duty bound to field candidates that will work for the common man.
He said the PRP is the only party that formed government outside the APC and PDP.
“We have formed government in old Kaduna State and old Kano State and the people are witnesses to what we achieved. Ours is a party for the talakawa. To date no government has been able to march our success in Kaduna State.
Another PRP chieftain and former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof Attahiru Jega, said their preoccupation is to field credible and competent people in leadership positions.
Jega said “the level of incompetence we see, if allowed to continue, will only lead to the total breakdown of governance in the country.”
